Description
Almonds are one of the healthiest nuts available, as they contain essential fatty acids, valuable vitamins (especially from the B and E groups), and minerals (notably calcium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, and iron). Almonds are a leading food source of alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), the most potent and absorbable form of the antioxidant vitamin. Almonds are considered an excellent alternative to animal protein sources. The health benefits of almonds are hard to list, as they are endless. At the very least, they help cleanse internal organs, strengthen the brain, improve vision, and can be used in the treatment of throat diseases, asthma, pleurisy, and more. A few words about cow's milk. Cow's milk is a good source of calcium and protein, but it contains lactose, which many people's bodies do not tolerate (bloating after milk indicates incomplete digestion of the product); it should be consumed separately from all other foods, as the digestion of milk is a complex chemical process. Natural milk is nearly impossible to find in stores, and what is sold on the shelves, after processing, almost entirely loses its beneficial properties. Additionally, almost all milk from dairy farms contains pus, a cow's body's reaction to mastitis (the dairy industry has standards for the minimum amount of pus in milk—it is not zero, but rather a certain minimum). By the way, this discussion pertains exclusively to cow's, goat's, and other animal milks; we do not consider fermented dairy products, as they have a somewhat different composition. I fully support breastfeeding and do not criticize mother's milk at all (this is a separate, large topic that is even scary to bring up).
Ingredients
- Almond - 7.1 oz
- Water - 34 fl oz
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Ground Cinnamon - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Thoroughly rinse the dried almonds and soak them in 400 milliliters of room temperature drinking water for 6-8 hours.
Step 2
After soaking, drain the water and add three cups of fresh drinking water.
Step 3
Add the almonds and water to a blender and blend until smooth. (blend for at least 2 minutes)
Step 4
Strain the liquid through a synthetic straining bag or a fine sieve.
Step 5
Thoroughly squeeze the pomace and you can repeat the grinding process by adding a small amount of water. Then strain it again, squeeze it out, and pour it into the first batch of milk.
Step 6
Since almond milk has a mild flavor, it can be served with honey and cinnamon, and can also be used as a base for milkshakes.
