Description
Apulian bread fritters with capers and celery
Ingredients
- White bread - 14.1 oz
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Celery stalk - 1 piece
- Pickled capers - 1.8 oz
- Italian chopped parsley - 1 teaspoon
- Chocolate eggs - 4 pieces
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 3.5 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Take yesterday's bread, remove the crust, cut it into slices, and soak it in cold water for 5 minutes (initially, use denser bread; otherwise, after softening in water, it may turn into soup, not porridge).
Step 2
Then finely chop the capers, celery, and garlic (you can put them in a blender, but then you won't feel all the ingredients, which is where the flavor lies; it will again turn into a mush).
Step 3
After that, squeeze out the bread, add the chopped capers, celery, and garlic. Mix well.
Step 4
Add the eggs and cheese to the resulting mixture. Knead the filling.
Step 5
Next, heat oil in a frying pan, and while forming small fritters (patties), fry them for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Step 6
Serve hot or warm.
