Description
Store the prepared oil in a cool, dark place for no more than 30 days. Do not allow water to get into the oil! Aromatic oil will add vibrant notes to your usual dishes! Use it to dress salads, drizzle on pizza crusts, add to baked goods or meat dishes, or marinate fish — aromatic vegetable oil can do wonders! For a touch of flavor, you can also drizzle it over boiled potatoes, rice, buckwheat, pearl barley, pasta, and mushrooms. To prepare aromatic oil, you will need a container with a wide neck. The ideal option is a glass bottle or jar with a screw cap. The dishes for preparing and storing aromatic oil must be clean and dry. If water gets into the oil, its taste will spoil, and its shelf life will be significantly reduced.
Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil - 12 fl oz
- Vanillin - 0.1 oz
- Orange zest - 0.1 oz
- Cinnamon - 0.1 oz
- Ground clove - 5 pieces
- Star anise - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Heat the vegetable oil over low heat to 80–194°F, without bringing it to a boil. Add the spices to the warmed oil. After the oil has cooled, pour it along with the spices into the prepared infusion containers (optionally, stick a temporary label indicating the type of oil). Infuse the aromatic oil for 7–10 days, depending on how rich a flavor and aroma you desire.
Step 3
Before use, be sure to strain the oil (otherwise it may start to taste bitter). Then pour it into bottles.
