Ingredients
- Fennel - 2 pieces
- Olive Oil - 5 tablespoons
- Brown Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Nigella Seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 2.8 oz

Step 1
Slice the fennel into thin wedges and lightly blanch in hot, but not boiling, water for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 392°F, grease a baking sheet with 1 tablespoon of oil, and prepare the fennel mixture. To do this, mix 4 tablespoons of oil, fennel seeds, grated lemon zest, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Step 3
After 10 minutes, drain the fennel in a colander, lightly dry, arrange on the baking sheet, and brush with the prepared mixture.
Step 4
Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
Step 5
5 minutes before it's done, sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
