Baked Potatoes with Sea Salt
Ingredients
- Salad Potatoes - 8 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Safflower Oil - 3 fl oz
- Ocean salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the potatoes in a pot, cover with cold water, and add 1.5 tablespoons of salt. Cover with a lid, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 15 minutes (do not let it boil), until the potatoes are almost done. If a knife tip easily pierces the potato without breaking it, you can remove the pot from the heat.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 392°F.
Step 3
Drain the potatoes in a colander, shake well, and let them dry for a few minutes. Meanwhile, heat the oil on a baking sheet over high heat in the oven.
Step 4
Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Place the potatoes in the oil one by one (do not dump all the potatoes from the colander at once, or you will splatter hot oil). Salt the potatoes, turn them to coat all sides in oil, then return the baking sheet to the oven.
Step 5
Bake the potatoes for 30–40 minutes until they are golden and crispy. Turn them every 10 minutes and sprinkle with sea salt when the potatoes are halfway done.
Step 6
Remove the potatoes from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot, sprinkled again with sea salt.
