Description
For this dish, it is best to use a small round pumpkin. If figs are not available, they can be omitted, as well as nuts, or walnuts can be replaced with your favorites. If you take small pumpkins, you will get individual servings, or one large pumpkin can be served for everyone. You should eat not only the filling but also the pumpkin itself, carefully scooping out the flesh with a spoon from inside along with the filling. This recipe does not use sugar, as the natural flavor of the ingredients is balanced and sufficient. If it is not sweet enough, feel free to add honey.
Ingredients
- Pumpkin - 1 piece
- Cottage cheese - 10.6 oz
- Apple - 3 pieces
- Walnuts - 3.5 oz
- Heavy cream - 8.8 oz
- Green Figs - 6 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients, wash the apples and pumpkin.
Step 2
Carefully cut off the top of the pumpkin — it will become the lid for the pumpkin pot.
Step 3
Remove all the seeds from the pumpkin.
Step 4
Place the resulting pumpkin pot (with the lid) in a baking dish and put it in the oven for 20 minutes (until semi-cooked) at a temperature of 356°F.
Step 5
Then take the pumpkin out.
Step 6
Place half of the cottage cheese inside.
Step 7
Cut the apples into wedges and chop some into smaller pieces.
Step 8
Prepare the fruits.
Step 9
Spread the finely chopped apples over the cottage cheese.
Step 10
Gently press down, and if there is not enough filling, add more.
Step 11
On top of the apples, add the remaining cottage cheese and pour in the cream, leaving a little for garnishing the finished dish.
Step 12
Cover with the lid, place the apple wedges and figs on top, and return to the oven for about 20 minutes at a temperature of 356°F.
Step 13
When everything is ready (you can check readiness with a knife or stick by piercing the apples or the wall of the pumpkin; it should be soft), take it out of the oven and let it cool slightly.
Step 14
Chop the nuts finely, leaving a few whole for decoration.
Step 15
Drizzle the apples and figs with cream and sprinkle with nuts, decorating the lid of the pumpkin with large pieces.
Step 16
Serve whole at the table, or you can also serve it like ice cream or dessert, in portions. You can allow everyone to take the desired amount of filling, so a common spoon should be provided.
