Description

- Pearl barley - 7.1 oz
- Butter - 1.1 oz
- Fresh Mushrooms - 10.6 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Parsley - to taste
- Chicken Broth - 12 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place a skillet over medium heat, toast the barley in it, shaking the skillet occasionally. After 4 minutes, transfer the grains to a bowl.
Step 2
In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the onion and sauté for 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms and cook for about 10 minutes, until the mushrooms are soft and the liquid has completely evaporated.
Step 3
Add the barley, pour in the broth and 200 ml of water, add salt, pepper, and thyme. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat. Cover with a lid and cook for 30 minutes, until the barley is completely soft. Remove from heat and add parsley.
