Ingredients
- Onion - 1 piece
- Potato - 2 pieces
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Garlic - 6 cloves
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 17 fl oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Pearl barley - 4.2 oz
- Broccoli - 3.5 oz
- Chinese green beans - 1.8 oz
- Red Curry Powder - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Soak the groats overnight to swell.
Step 2
Sauté the finely chopped onion in oil for 1–2 minutes. Then add the finely chopped garlic and curry powder, stir.
Step 3
After 1 minute, add the barley groats (without soaking liquid), sliced carrot, and diced potato. Pour in the water, cover with a lid, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 4
After 20 minutes, add the broccoli and green beans (can be added frozen), season with salt to taste. Cook for another 8–10 minutes.
