- Chinese green beans - 4 lbs
- Olive Oil - 6 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Parsley - 2 stems
- Serrano Chili - 3.5 oz
- Salt - to taste

Step 1
Trim the ends of the pods and remove any tough strings from the skin. Cut the pods into squares, ensuring each piece contains a bean. Rinse and dry.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a skillet, add the beans, finely chopped garlic, and parsley, and season with salt. Cook uncovered over low heat, shaking the skillet occasionally, for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Add the finely chopped ham and 5 tablespoons of water, and cook for another 30-45 minutes, until the beans are tender.
