Description
Beef stewed in sour cream
Ingredients
- Beef - 10.6 oz
- Sour Cream - 5 teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Onion - 1 head
- Wheat Flour - 2 spoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Slice the beef into thin strips.
Step 2
Sauté it together with the onion, sliced into thin half-rings, in hot vegetable oil until golden brown, for about 3–4 minutes.
Step 3
Add water until it covers the meat halfway. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid, and simmer on the lowest heat for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally. Keep an eye on the water level; if it evaporates too soon, add a little more.
Step 4
Then season the meat with pepper and salt, and add some herbs. If you're using fresh dill, it should be added at the very end. Now, add the sour cream, mix well, and heat on low for about 5 minutes.
Step 5
In a separate glass, dissolve the flour in 100 ml of cold water and pour it into the skillet with the beef. Then, over medium heat, stirring constantly, bring the meat to a boil, cover with a lid, and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes. If you prefer more gravy, you can add a little more water. Instead of flour, you can use the same process with potato starch.
