- Chicken Broth - 7 fl oz
- Cilantro - 0.4 oz
- Corn Starch - 0.4 oz
- White Pepper (whole) - 0.1 oz
- Chinese Five Spice - 0 oz
- Sesame Oil - 0 fl oz
- Soy Sauce - 0 fl oz
- Olive Oil - 0 fl oz
- Water - 0 fl oz
- Veal Tenderloin - 12 oz
- Chinese Black Rice Vinegar - 0.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Lightly salt the beef and marinate it in the five spice mixture with sesame oil and 5 ml of olive oil.
Step 2
Trim the roots off the mushrooms and slice the green onion into large feathers.
Step 3
Sear the beef in a hot skillet on all sides for 3 minutes.
Step 4
Bake the beef in a preheated oven at 356°F for 10 minutes; transfer the beef from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Bring the broth to a boil, add the mushrooms, and simmer for 5 minutes, then add the soy sauce, white pepper, and vinegar, and bring to a boil.
Step 6
Add the cornstarch dissolved in 30 ml of cold water and the green onion, stir, and remove from heat, adjusting salt to taste.
Step 7
Slice the beef thinly, place the mushrooms on a plate, top with the beef, garnish with cilantro, and serve.
