Description
Beer Can Chicken
Ingredients
- Poultry - 1 piece
- Bouillon cube - 1 piece
- Spices - to taste
- Ground Dried Garlic - 0.1 oz
- Beer - 11 fl oz
- Herbes de Provence - 0.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix the crushed bouillon cube and spices. Rub half of it inside the chicken.
Step 2
Take a quarter of the beer from the can and use a can opener to cut off the top of the can.
Step 3
Soak 2 small wooden logs in hot water for 20 minutes.
Step 4
In a covered grill, light a medium fire and create coals. Move the coals to the sides of the grill, leaving space in the center. Place the wet logs on the coals and let them start smoking.
Step 5
Sit the chicken on the beer can so that the legs hang down to the bottom, and the bird sits upright.
Step 6
Place the bird in the center of the grill, cover with the lid, and open the vent. The chicken should cook for 40 minutes with the grill covered.
Step 7
After 40 minutes, turn the chicken so the other side faces you and cook for another 15-20 minutes, until the juices run clear.
Step 8
Remove the chicken and take it off the can. Wrap it in foil and let it rest for 10 minutes. Carve and serve.
