Description
If you are using walnuts, it's best to first pour boiling water over them and then roast them in the oven or on a skillet. This will help remove any bitterness and achieve a pleasant texture.
Ingredients
- Beetroot - 7.1 oz
- Apple - 2 pieces
- Pecan - 4.4 oz
- Cider - 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil - 2 fl oz
- English Dry Mustard - ½ spoons
- Sugar - a pinch
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, vinegar, mustard, sugar, salt, and pepper for the dressing.
Step 2
Peel a couple of medium beets and cut them into quarters, then slice each quarter thinly. Also, cut the apples into quarters, remove the core, and slice them thinly as well.
Step 3
Combine with the beetroot in a bowl. Lightly toast the nuts in a dry skillet and add them to the bowl as well. Dress the salad, mix well, and portion onto plates.
