Black Currant Sauce for Meat
Ingredients
- Shallot - 1.8 oz
- Frozen black currant puree - 10.6 oz
- Dry White Wine - 1 fl oz
- Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Balsamic Vinegar - 1 fl oz
- Thyme - 5 sprigs
- Salt - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Finely chop the shallot.
Step 3
Remove the leaves from the thyme sprigs and chop them finely.
Step 4
In a saucepan, heat the oil and sauté the shallot until translucent.
Step 5
Pour in the white wine and let it evaporate.
Step 6
Add the black currants, sugar, and balsamic vinegar. Cook for 5 minutes.
Step 7
Add the thyme, salt, stir, and remove the sauce from heat.
Step 8
This sauce pairs well with meat: beef, pork, duck.
