Blueberry Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- Onion - 2.1 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 teaspoons
- Mild Chili Spice - 0.4 oz
- Ketchup - ¼ cup
- Rice Vinegar for Sushi - ¼ cup
- Brown Sugar - 3 tablespoons
- Dijon Mustard - 3 tablespoons
- TABASCO® - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh Berries - 11.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, heat the vegetable oil and add the chopped onion and minced chili pepper. Sauté over medium heat for about 3 minutes until softened.
Step 2
Add the ketchup, vinegar, sugar, mustard, and TABASCO, bring to a boil, and then add the blueberries. Reduce to a low heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens.
Step 3
Transfer the sauce to a blender and puree. Then strain through a sieve, season with salt and pepper.
