Braised brisket with herbs and vegetables
Ingredients
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Beef chuck roast - 9 lbs
- Ocean salt - 1½ teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper - ½ teaspoon
- Onion - 1½ kg
- Carrot - 3 pieces
- Celery salt - 2 bunches
- Bay leaf - 4 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop 1 head of garlic and rub it into the meat.
Step 2
Season the meat with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Take a skillet, layer the bottom with half-moon slices of onion, carrot, and celery. Place the meat on top. Put 2 bay leaves under the meat and the remaining two on top.
Step 4
Cover the skillet with aluminum foil and place it in a preheated oven at 356°F for 4 hours.
Step 5
Let the meat 'rest' for 20 minutes. You can drizzle the remaining fat over the meat and vegetables. Additionally, you can blend the vegetables into a thick sauce.
Step 6
If serving the meat the next day, store it in the refrigerator. Take it out in advance to let it sit at room temperature.
Step 7
Reheat the meat for 45-60 minutes, occasionally basting with the juices. The meat should develop a delicious brown crust and be tender inside. Slice the meat thinly.
