Description
Braised Pork Ham with Vegetables
Ingredients
- Onion - 10.6 oz
- Parsnip - 3 pieces
- Carrot - 2 pieces
- Butter - 1.4 oz
- Pork Blood - 3 lbs
- Red Grape Juice - 3 tablespoons
- Potato - 1 piece
- Campbell's Beef Broth - 8 fl oz
- Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the onion in a bowl and pour boiling water over it, let it sit for 1 minute, then drain. Cool and peel.
Step 2
Cut the carrot and parsnip in half, then into small pieces. Remove the seeds from the pepper and dice it. Melt half of the butter in a large skillet, add the onion, carrot, parsnip, and pepper, and sauté, stirring, until golden.
Step 3
Transfer to a plate. Melt the remaining butter, add the meat, and brown it on all sides. Increase the heat and pour in the wine. Bring to a boil, then add the chopped tomato and broth. Bring to a boil again, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2 hours, turning once.
Step 4
Add the vegetables and simmer, covered, for another hour.
Step 5
Transfer the meat from the skillet and wrap it in foil, leaving it for a while.
Step 6
Turn the heat back up and bring the juices in the skillet with the vegetables to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt.
Step 7
Slice the meat and serve with the vegetables, drizzled with the juices from the skillet. Serve with mustard.
