Description
Braised Pork Shoulder with Bulgur
Ingredients
- Bulgur - 10.6 oz
- Boneless pork shoulder - 2 lbs
- Carrot - 5.3 oz
- Onion - 3.5 oz
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Vegetable Oil - 2 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Mixed Ground Peppers - 1 teaspoon
- Bay leaf - 3 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Rinse the meat well under running water, remove any excess, and cut into large cubes.
Step 3
Pour 50 ml of vegetable oil into a skillet, add the chopped meat, and place the skillet over heat.
Step 4
Sear the meat on all sides until golden brown and transfer it to a pot where it will be cooked.
Step 5
Dice the onion and julienne the carrot. Place them in the skillet where the meat was cooked, add 25 ml of vegetable oil, and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden.
Step 6
Transfer the cooked onion and carrot to the pot with the meat. Add the bay leaves.
Step 7
Add salt to the meat and pour in 0.5 liters of water. Place over heat, bring to a boil, and simmer for about 40 minutes on low heat with the lid on.
Step 8
Place 300 grams of bulgur in a dry skillet and toast for about 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Step 9
Add 1 teaspoon of mixed ground peppers and 3-4 cloves of garlic to the pot with the meat.
Step 10
Add the bulgur to the pot with the meat and spread it evenly.
Step 11
Pour approximately 300 ml of water into the pot, just enough to cover the bulgur slightly, bring to a boil, and simmer until the bulgur is cooked, about 20-30 minutes.
Step 12
Serve the finished dish warm or hot.
