Description
A wok is a round, deep Chinese frying pan with a convex bottom and a small diameter. Due to the increasing popularity of Eastern cuisine, the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, and the fast pace of our lives, wok pans have become more common in our kitchens. With flat or rounded bottoms, cast iron or non-stick coatings, there are many varieties available. If you are planning to buy such a pan, it's worth taking the time to find out which ones are available in your area. One thing is for sure - once you acquire a wok, you'll be amazed at how you managed without it all this time.
Ingredients
- Broccoli - 11.3 oz
- Peanut Sprouts - 3.5 oz
- Snap Peas - 2.8 oz
- Toasted Sesame - 0.4 oz
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- White Beans - 0.4 oz
- Sesame Oil - 0 fl oz
- Kung Pao Sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster Mushrooms - 1 tablespoon
- Banana Leaves - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Before frying, blanch the broccoli in boiling water for a couple of minutes. It's important to cook the vegetables slightly underdone – chefs refer to this level of doneness as 'al dente', meaning slightly crunchy in the middle. Oyster sauce is used instead of salt, while hoisin sauce provides the main flavor note.
Step 2
Divide the broccoli into florets.
Step 3
Chop the garlic together with the soybeans, mixing well.
Step 4
Slice the peas lengthwise into horizontal strips.
Step 5
When the wok is heated, pour in the oil, sauté the garlic with the soybeans, then add the broccoli, peas, and sprouts.
Step 6
Next, you need to act quickly and be very attentive to prevent the sauces from burning.
Step 7
Quickly stir in all the sauces and add a few drops of sesame oil at the end.
Step 8
Sprinkle with nuts and serve on the banana leaf.
