  • Buckwheat Groats - 1 cup
  • Turnips - 2 pieces
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
  • Butter - 1.8 oz
  • Salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Peel, wash, finely chop the onion, and sauté it in heated vegetable oil.

Step 2

Peel, wash, and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

Step 3

Sort the buckwheat, rinse it, toast it in a dry pan, pour in 2.5 cups of boiling water, stir, and cook until the water is absorbed by the buckwheat.

Step 4

Mix the porridge with the carrots and onions, add salt, transfer to a clay pot, and place in a preheated oven for 10-20 minutes.

Step 5

Finish the porridge with butter and serve.
