- Buckwheat Groats - 1 cup
- Onion - 1 head
- Tomatoes - 3 pieces
- Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
- Soy Sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sort the buckwheat, rinse it, and toast it.
Step 2
Bring 2.5 cups of water to a boil, add the buckwheat, salt, stir, and cook on low heat until thickened.
Step 3
Transfer the porridge to a clay pot, place it in a preheated oven, and cook until ready.
Step 4
Peel, wash, and finely chop the onion.
Step 5
Wash the tomatoes and cut them into small cubes.
Step 6
Wash the bell pepper, remove the stem and seeds, and cut it into thin strips.
Step 7
Place the cooked porridge in a pan with heated vegetable oil, add the prepared vegetables and bay leaf, pour in the soy sauce, and heat on low for 5 minutes.
Step 8
This porridge can be served as a standalone dish or as a side dish to fried or stewed pork, beef, or turkey.
