Buckwheat with Fern and Squid
Ingredients
- Buckwheat Groats - 1½ cups
- Squid - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Vegetable Oil - 4 tablespoons
- Butter - 1.4 oz
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Ostrich fern - 7.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cook the buckwheat until done.
Step 2
Thaw the squid and clean it from the skin.
Step 3
Soak the fern overnight in cold water to remove excess salt.
Step 4
Chop the onion and fern.
Step 5
Sauté the onion and fern in vegetable oil. Salting is optional, as the fern may have enough salt, but rely on your taste.
Step 6
Add the cooked buckwheat and garlic.
Step 7
Sauté the squid in oil in another pan over high heat for 1.5 minutes, season with pepper and salt. You can mix it with the buckwheat, but I will place it on top of the porridge and serve immediately!
