Cabbage Rolls Simple Recipe
Ingredients
- White Cabbage - 1 piece
- Rice - ½ cup
- Pork Mince - 8.8 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Wheat Flour - 1½ tablespoons
- Tomato Puree - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Veal Mince - 8.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the rice.
Step 10
Fry the flour in vegetable oil (1:1) until it smells like 'bread'.
Step 11
Add the tomato puree, mix thoroughly to avoid lumps, and sauté a little.
Step 12
Pour in cold water (the amount of water depends on the size of your pot with cabbage rolls, enough to completely cover the finished sauce) and bring to a boil.
Step 13
Pour the sauce over the rolls and simmer on low heat for 40 minutes.
Step 14
Serve with sour cream and the sauce from the cabbage rolls.
Step 2
While the rice is cooking, carefully separate the cabbage into leaves.
Step 3
Place in boiling water for 3 minutes.
Step 4
Trim the thick veins if they protrude too much. The surface of the leaf should be as flat as possible.
Step 5
Finely chop the onion.
Step 6
Mix the rice, onion, beef, and pork mince. Season with salt and pepper to taste. The volume of rice and mince should be 1:1.
Step 7
Wrap the cabbage rolls: place a small amount of filling on a cabbage leaf and wrap it like an envelope. Leave a few leaves for the bottom of the pot; you can use damaged leaves.
Step 8
Fry the cabbage rolls in vegetable oil. They should brown slightly; fry on high heat for a couple of minutes.
Step 9
Place the remaining cabbage leaves at the bottom of the pot, then tightly arrange the cabbage rolls on top.
