Description
Stewed young cabbage shines in this recipe, but it is not always available, so any white cabbage will do.
Ingredients
- White Cabbage - 1 piece
- Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
- Tomatoes - 3 pieces
- Frozen green bean pods - 8.8 oz
- Mushroom seasoning - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Herbs - 1 bunch
- Onion - 1 head
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the vegetables.
Step 2
First, cut the cabbage in half.
Step 3
Then cut each half into quarters, and then into small pieces both crosswise and lengthwise.
Step 4
Place the cabbage in a preheated skillet, add vegetable oil and salt, and it's best to cover it with a lid so it can stew.
Step 5
While the cabbage is stewing, chop the pepper after removing the seeds and stem.
Step 6
Also chop the tomato into convenient cubes.
Step 7
For the herbs, take only the leafy part and chop finely.
Step 8
Set the chopped vegetables aside until the cabbage is halfway cooked (this takes about 25 minutes if the cabbage is not young, and a bit faster if it is fresh cabbage).
Step 9
The skillet for cooking should be large enough to fit all the vegetables.
Step 10
The cabbage will be stewed when it reduces in volume and has a pleasant taste. Then add the onion and mix, letting it sit under the lid for about 5–7 minutes.
Step 11
Next, add the peas and tomatoes and mix, cover with a lid, and wait another 5–7 minutes.
Step 12
Add the herbs, mix, cover with a lid, and wait a few minutes.
Step 13
Add the seasoning, mix, cover with a lid, and turn off the heat.
Step 14
Serve as a standalone dish or as a side.
