Description
Cacio e Pepe literally means spaghetti with cheese and pepper. It is a very delicious and hearty Italian pasta that is popular all over the world.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti - 7.1 oz
- Butter - 2.1 oz
- Ground Black Pepper - 1 tablespoon
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 2.5 oz
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Bring 3 liters of water to a boil, then add salt.
Step 3
Add the pasta and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. About 2 minutes before the pasta is done, drain the water, reserving a cup of it.
Step 4
Melt 40 grams of butter in a skillet.
Step 5
Add freshly ground pepper and sauté it for about a minute, stirring constantly.
Step 6
Pour in 0.5 cup of pasta cooking water and bring to a boil.
Step 7
Add the pasta and the remaining oil.
Step 8
Reduce the heat to low and add the grated cheese.
Step 9
Mix well with tongs until the cheese melts. If necessary, add more pasta water.
Step 10
Serve.
