Prepare the Caesar Salad Dressing in advance. Enjoy your meal!
Ingredients
- Romaine lettuce - 1 bunch
- Parmesan Cheese - 1.1 oz
- Stale Bread - 3 pieces
- Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 1½ cloves
- Salt - to taste
- Herbes de Provence - ¼ teaspoon
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- King Prawns - 10 pieces
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1½ teaspoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Thaw the shrimp.
Step 2
Wash the shrimp in cool water, remove the head and intestinal vein, and peel the shells.
Step 3
Pat the peeled shrimp dry with paper towels.
Step 4
In a bowl, place the shrimp, add salt, freshly ground pepper, honey, lemon juice, and olive oil.
Step 5
Mix the shrimp well with the honey-oil mixture.
Step 6
Let the shrimp marinate for 20–30 minutes.
Step 7
Drain the marinated shrimp from the marinade.
Step 8
Heat a little olive or vegetable oil (or olive oil with butter) in a skillet.
Step 9
Place the shrimp in the hot skillet and sauté for about 2–3 minutes on each side (cook very quickly — the shrimp are done as soon as they turn opaque all the way through, meaning they stop being transparent).
Step 10
Remove the cooked shrimp from the skillet, place them in a bowl, and set aside.
Step 11
Prepare the croutons. Peel and chop the garlic. Pour olive oil into a small bowl. Add the garlic to the oil. Let the garlic oil steep for 1–3 hours. Cut the bread into small cubes.
Step 12
Heat the garlic oil in a skillet (be careful not to let the garlic from the oil touch the skillet).
Step 13
Add the bread cubes and lightly toast them in the oil.
Step 14
Then place the croutons on a baking sheet, lightly salt, and sprinkle with herbs de Provence (you can add the garlic from the oil).
Step 15
Dry the croutons in the oven at 356°F (or you can dry them for a couple of minutes in an air fryer).
Step 16
Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly.
Step 17
Fill a large bowl with cold water, immerse the lettuce leaves, and let them sit for 1 hour — the lettuce will become crisper and fresher.
Step 18
Remove the lettuce from the water, shake off excess water, and dry the leaves well with paper towels.
Step 19
Tear the lettuce by hand and place it in a dry, clean bowl.
Step 20
Add a little Caesar dressing and gently mix.
Step 21
Rub the plate where the salad will be served with a halved garlic clove.
Step 22
Place the lettuce leaves with the dressing on the plate.
Step 23
Additionally, lightly drizzle the salad with a small amount of dressing.
Step 24
Top the lettuce with croutons and sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
Step 25
Serve the salad immediately so that the croutons do not become soggy.
