Description

Calzone Pie with Cottage Cheese, Cheese, and Salami

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Butter - 2.1 oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Sugar - ½ teaspoon
  • Salt - 0.7 teaspoon
  • Sour Cream - 5.3 oz
  • Activated Baking Soda - ¼ teaspoon

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Mix the butter and egg.

Step 2

Add sugar, salt, baking soda, and pour in the sour cream. Stir.

Step 3

The amount of sugar depends on the filling. If the filling is not sweet, use 0.5 teaspoons of sugar; if it is sweet, use up to four teaspoons.

Step 4

Add 1 cup of flour. Mix.

Step 5

Pour the second cup of flour onto the table, place the sour cream mixture on it, and knead a soft dough. Divide the dough into 2 parts.

Step 6

Roll each part into a circle with a diameter of about 30–35 cm and a thickness of 4–5 mm. Mentally divide the dough circle in half and spread a layer of cottage cheese on one half, leaving some space from the edge.

Step 7

Place slices of salami on the cottage cheese, and on top of the salami, add the remaining sliced cheese.

Step 8

Fold the free part of the dough over the filling, folding the dough circle in half.

Step 9

Gently press the edges of the dough.

Step 10

Make several holes on top with a fork (down to the filling) for steam to escape. Transfer the pie to a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 11

Brush the top of the pie with beaten egg.

Step 12

Place in a preheated oven at 428°F until golden brown (I baked it for 15 minutes).
