Calzone with Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Pizza Flour - 17.6 oz
- Semi-Smoked Sausage - 5.3 oz
- Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
- Spanish onions - ½ piece
- Morels - 8.8 oz
- Melted Cheese - 7.1 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Red Long Chili Peppers - ¼ teaspoon
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 1.4 oz
- Baking Tomatoes - 28.2 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the sauce, place tomatoes, garlic, salt, and sugar in a saucepan and heat over medium heat.
Step 2
Bring to a boil. Simmer on low heat for 20–30 minutes.
Step 3
Blend this mixture into a puree.
Step 4
Roll out the dough. On one half of the dough, place the sliced sausage, mushrooms, onion, and green bell pepper. Add the grated cheese.
Step 5
Cover the filling with the other piece of dough. Seal the edges tightly. Make several slits with a sharp knife.
Step 6
Brush the calzone with beaten egg and sprinkle with spices and grated cheese.
Step 7
Bake in a preheated oven at 464°F for 12–18 minutes. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
Step 8
Slice and serve with marinara sauce.
