Cannelloni with Ground Meat

Ingredients

  • Lasagna dough - 8 pieces
  • Tomatoes - 4 pieces
  • Parmesan Cheese - 0.2 oz
  • Melted Cheese - 5.3 oz
  • Spanish onions - 1 piece
  • Sage - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground meat - 17.6 oz
  • Breadcrumbs - 1.8 oz
  • Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Milk - 20 fl oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Wheat Flour - 3 tablespoons
  • Butter - 1.8 oz
  • Cream (40%) - ½ cup

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for 4–5 minutes, then add the sage and ground meat, cooking for 10–15 minutes over high heat. Allow to cool, then add the breadcrumbs and egg, and season.

Step 2

To make the sauce, combine the milk, butter, and flour in a saucepan. Season, then slowly bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking occasionally. Cook on the lowest heat for 5 minutes. Stir in the cream, season, cover, and set aside.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 356°F. Divide the filling into 8 portions and roll each portion into a sausage shape. Place each sausage on a sheet of lasagna and roll it up, arranging them in a baking dish.

Step 4

Top with sliced tomatoes, pour over the white sauce, cover with diced mozzarella, and sprinkle with grated parmesan. Place in the oven and bake for 40 minutes until golden brown.
