Description
Cherry compote for winter
Ingredients
- Cherry - 17.6 oz
- Water - 84 fl oz
- Sugar - 8.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Thoroughly wash the jar and lid, then sterilize them over steam for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Wash and dry the cherries.
Step 4
Sort the berries, removing the stems and pits (this helps the jam last longer). If you plan to consume the compote within six months, you can leave the pits in.
Step 5
Place the berries in a jar.
Step 6
In a saucepan, combine sugar and water.
Step 7
Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until the sugar has dissolved.
Step 8
Pour the hot syrup over the berries.
Step 9
Seal the jar with a sterilized lid. Turn the jar upside down and wrap it in a blanket. You can remove the blanket after 24 hours.
Step 10
Cherry compote can be enjoyed after a week.
