Chicago-Style Stuffed Pizza
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 3¼ cups
- Sugar - 3 teaspoons
- Salt - 4 teaspoons
- Water - 1¼ cups
- Olive Oil - 6 tablespoons
- Dried Rosemary - 1 teaspoon
- Baking Tomatoes - 7.1 oz
- Fresh basil leaves - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Parmesan Cheese - 3.5 oz
- Courgette - 1 piece
- Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
- Melted Cheese - 7.8 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Eggplants - 1 piece
- Dry yeast - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and 3 teaspoons of salt. Make a well in the mixture and add warm water and 4 tablespoons of oil. Knead until smooth and soft dough forms. Place in a warm area for 1.5 hours to rise.
Step 2
Chop the tomatoes and garlic, grate the parmesan cheese, and mix together with the remaining salt and herbs.
Step 3
Peel and chop the zucchini, bell pepper, onion, and eggplant, then sauté in olive oil until soft. Cool and mix with the chopped mozzarella.
Step 4
After 1.5 hours, remove the dough, punch it down slightly, and spread it in a greased pan, covering the bottom and sides.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 392°F on the bottom heating setting.
Step 6
Spread the vegetable and mozzarella filling over the dough. Pour tomato sauce on top. Place in the oven for 10 minutes, then switch to the medium heating setting and bake for another 25–30 minutes.
