Ingredients
- Butter - 3.5 oz
- Onion - 4 pieces
- Poultry - 1 piece
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 17 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
- Cardamom - 1 piece
- Bay leaf - 3 pieces
- Red Long Chili Peppers - a pinch
- Black Cumin (Cumin) - 1 teaspoon
- Mustard Greens - 1 teaspoon
- Ground clove - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Heat the cauldron with two tablespoons of butter. Fry the chicken on both sides over high heat until golden brown.
Step 2
Add finely chopped onion and fry until brown, then add minced garlic and ginger. Grind the mustard seeds, cumin, red pepper, cloves, cardamom, turmeric, and bay leaf into a powder and add to the frying mixture. Cook on low heat for another 3-5 minutes.
Step 3
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook everything on low heat, stirring for another 20 minutes. Add a tablespoon of water at a time to prevent burning.
Step 4
Pour the remaining water into the cauldron and let the chicken and mixture cook on low heat for another 20 minutes, until the chicken is tender.
Step 5
Serve with rice.
