Description
The chicken turns out tender and aromatic, in its own juice. You can come up with your own sauces, experiment, and taste the resulting dish. It pairs very well with a favorite brand of dry white wine.
Ingredients
- Poultry - 3 lbs
- Herbs - 20 bunches
- Ketchup - to taste
- Soy Sauce - to taste
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Ground Breadcrumbs - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Spices - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
The chicken needs to be thoroughly washed, cut along the breast, and rinsed inside. If you're not squeamish, you can remove the skin. For example, I keep the chicken in boiling water for 15 minutes, and after that, the skin comes off easily. Just pull a bit harder.
Step 2
After all the manipulations, I leave the chicken alone to dry, allowing the excess water to drain.
Step 3
I start making the sauce. In a small bowl (you can use a cup that you don't use often), I add ketchup and spices to taste, squeeze the garlic through a press, and mix until smooth. After that, I add soy sauce and a bit of salt and pepper. I mix again vigorously and set aside.
Step 4
I take a baking bag (it is sold in stores, in a 2-meter package) and measure with an allowance of about 10 cm. I cut it and then cut small strips to tie it on both sides.
Step 5
Now I can start with the chicken. If you don't want to get your hands dirty with the sauce, you can wear disposable plastic gloves (which are also sold in stores). I start spreading the sauce inside and outside the chicken. The sauce is liquid and absorbs well into the meat. All that's left is to coat it in ground breadcrumbs and place a bunch of herbs inside for aroma.
Step 6
I tie the legs and put it in the baking bag. It may not work perfectly the first time, but you can get the hang of it without getting sauce everywhere. I tie the bag on both sides and poke a hole in the top with a toothpick.
Step 7
Since I made it in a multicooker, I poured 3 cups of water into the bowl up to the middle of the bag with the chicken (the cup comes with the multicooker). I used the 'Stew' program. If you are using an oven, you can also add a little water to the tray. The chicken cooks for about 1 hour, but you can cook it longer, as it won't affect it negatively; it will just become much juicier.
