Chicken in Orange Juice

Ingredients

  • Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
  • Chicken fillet - 2 pieces
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Spiced Tomato Juice - 5 tablespoons
  • Wheat Flour - 1 cup
  • Ground Black Pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • Mayonnaise - 5 tablespoons
  • Orange zest - ½ piece
  • Orange juice concentrate - ½ cup
  • Scallions - to taste
  • Salt - 2 teaspoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Step 2

Cut the chicken breast into portion-sized pieces, about 3 cm.

Step 3

In a deep bowl, mix three eggs, a teaspoon of salt, and a bit of spicy sauce.

Step 4

Add the chicken pieces to the mixture and mix well.

Step 5

In a flat plate, mix the flour, remaining salt, and a bit of black pepper.

Step 6

Coat each piece of chicken in flour and place on foil.

Step 7

If desired, instead of baking in the oven, you can simply fry the chicken in a pan.

Bake the breasts for about 15 minutes at 180°C (350°F).

Step 9

Place them under the broiler for about five minutes to brown.

Step 10

While the chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce.

Step 11

For this, mix half a cup of mayonnaise, 4-5 tablespoons of sweet-spicy sauce, the zest of half an orange, and half a cup of orange juice. Stir until a smooth liquid mixture is formed.

Pour the sauce into a pan and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Step 13

Place the cooked chicken into the sauce and mix thoroughly so that all pieces are coated. The flour on the chicken will give the sauce extra thickness and transparency.

Step 14

Once the sauce thickens to the desired consistency, turn off the heat and add chopped green onion (you can use any herbs to your taste).

Step 15

Serve as a standalone dish or with any side dish.
