Chicken in Pepper Sauce
Ingredients
- Poultry - 1 piece
- Sweet Pepper - 4 pieces
- Onion - 2 heads
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Chicken Broth - 17 fl oz
- Thyme - 0.2 oz
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil - 1 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Apple Wine - 3 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Cut the chicken into breasts, thighs, drumsticks, wings, and so on.
Step 3
Finely chop the onion and bell pepper.
Step 4
Sauté the chicken in a deep skillet with olive oil until golden brown.
Step 5
Remove the pieces of chicken and, in the same skillet, sauté the onion until soft, then add the sweet peppers and cook until they are also soft.
Step 6
Add garlic, tomato paste, wine, chicken broth, thyme, and bay leaf, then place the chicken pieces on top.
Step 7
Cover with a lid or seal with foil and place in the oven preheated to 356°F for forty minutes.
Step 8
Remove the chicken, discard the bay leaf and thyme sprigs, and strain the sauce.
Step 9
Set the solid part aside and simmer the liquid slightly.
Step 10
After seasoning with salt and pepper, mix the liquid with the leftover peppers and onions, and serve it alongside the chicken.
Step 11
Plain rice makes a great side dish.
