Chicken in Sweet and Sour Marinade
Ingredients
- Dry White Wine - 4 fl oz
- Soy Sauce - 4 fl oz
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Honey - 1 fl oz
- Grated Ginger Root - 0 fl oz
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Orange zest - 1 piece
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - to taste
- Poultry - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the chicken, remove the skin (if desired), and cut into serving pieces.
Step 2
Prepare the marinade: combine wine, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, citrus juice and zest, and freshly ground pepper.
Step 3
Thoroughly mix the chicken with the marinade and let it sit in the refrigerator for 1 hour (or longer).
Step 4
Drain and strain the marinade.
Step 5
Add 1 teaspoon of salt, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until reduced by half. Fry the chicken in vegetable oil until golden brown.
Step 6
About 10 minutes before the end of frying, add carrots and sesame seeds.
Step 7
Serve the chicken with the reduced marinade and your favorite side dish.
