Description

For the sauce, I use honey and soy sauce in a ratio of 3:2 — 3 parts honey to 2 parts soy sauce. This recipe is for any number of servings. The recipe is designed for 3 servings, assuming 2 legs per person. It actually takes very little time to prepare — you will spend only 10 minutes on the prep, and the rest of the time the chicken is in the oven while you are free. It's very convenient if you're tired after work but want to treat your husband. I promise he will be pleased (if he enjoys both chicken and sweets).

Ingredients

  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Chicken Drumstick - 6 pieces
  • Chicken Seasoning - to taste
  • Soy Sauce - 5 teaspoons
  • Honey - 6 teaspoons
  • Garlic - 5 cloves

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven, prepare a baking dish, a roasting bag, or simply use aluminum foil.

Step 2

Wash and dry the legs.

Step 3

Rub the legs with salt (don't use too much, as you will be using soy sauce later — you risk over-salting, or it's better not to use salt at all), pepper, and spices (you can use any spices you prefer).

Step 4

Set aside the legs and let them rest to soak in the flavors. Meanwhile, mix together the honey (it should be liquid; if it has crystallized, gently warm it up until it melts), soy sauce, and crushed or finely chopped garlic (whichever you prefer) — this will create a marinade sauce.

Step 5

Unroll the package and place it in the dish, making it easy to fold the legs. If you are using foil, line your dish with the foil, leaving enough overhang to wrap the chicken.

Step 6

Take the marinated drumsticks and generously coat them with the prepared marinade (you can even dip them into a bowl of sauce) and place them in a bag or a dish lined with foil. Pour the remaining sauce over them.

Step 7

Tie the bag or wrap it in foil, preferably in a dome shape, to allow air circulation and prevent contact with the chicken, as the honey may burn. WARNING — do not pierce the bag right away!

Step 8

Place in the preheated oven on the middle or upper rack and cook for 45–50 minutes, depending on your preferred level of doneness. Only pierce the bag after 25 minutes of cooking! Cooking in foil takes about 10 minutes longer.

Step 9

Remove and serve with boiled potatoes and fresh vegetables.
