Description
If it turns out too dry, you can drizzle a little olive oil on it. My family personally loves spicy food. So you can add garlic and spices to the rice to your liking — it will be something like pilaf.
Ingredients
- Poultry - 2 lbs
- Dried Turkey - 5.3 oz
- Rice - ½ cup
- Apple - 5 pieces
- Chopped Sage Leaves - 0.5 oz
- Onion - 2 heads
- Garlic - 6 cloves
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, boil the rice. Then leave it to cool.
Step 2
Chop the dried fruits (raisins, prunes, apricots — about 50 grams each), and add two apples (preferably not too sweet), diced. Then add the rice and finely chopped parsley (you can use cilantro).
Step 3
Rub the inside of the chicken with salt and pepper. Then stuff it with the rice mixture. Finally, sew it up or secure it with toothpicks.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, crush the garlic, add pepper and salt. Then rub this mixture onto the chicken, leaving a little of the garlic mixture. Tie the legs with string.
Step 5
For more aroma, you can make a couple of cuts in the skin, filling them with the remaining garlic-pepper mixture.
Step 6
Place the chicken on a baking sheet, and surround it with sliced onions and large apple wedges.
Step 7
Bake in the oven for about an hour (keep an eye on the crust) at 392°F, periodically basting the chicken with the fat that drips off. In the last 10 minutes, you can brown it at 482°F for a more roasted and crispy crust.
