Ingredients
- Chicken fillet - 14.1 oz
- Lentils - 7.1 oz
- Onion - 2 heads
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 teaspoon
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Parsley - 1 bunch
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, boil the lentils until cooked. The cooking instructions are usually written on the package.
Step 2
Next, finely chop the onion and garlic, and grate the ginger. Sauté the onion in a small amount of vegetable oil, then add the garlic and ginger.
Step 3
After that, add pieces of chicken, about the size of a walnut, to the skillet with the onion, garlic, and ginger, and sauté for 15–20 minutes (the first 3–5 minutes on high heat, then on medium).
Step 4
Then add the juice of half a lemon, salt, and your favorite spices (French herbs work well, for example) to the chicken. Pour in 100 ml of water and simmer covered for another 5 minutes.
Step 5
At the end of cooking, add the cooked lentils, chopped tomatoes, and finely chopped parsley. Mix everything, simmer for the final five minutes, and it's ready to serve.
