Description
Chicken with Mushrooms in Creamy Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
- Morels - 10.6 oz
- Skin-On Chicken Breasts - 19.4 oz
- Onion - 2.5 oz
- 10% cream - 7 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Butter - 1.1 oz
- Ground Nutmeg - ½ teaspoon
- Turmeric - ½ teaspoon
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the chicken breast, pat it dry with a paper towel, and cut it into small pieces.
Step 2
Clean the mushrooms and cut them into 2-4 pieces (depending on the size of the mushrooms). I cut them into 4 for better frying.
Step 3
Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, add the chicken pieces, and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
When the chicken has a nice golden crust, add the mushrooms. Cook for about 10 minutes.
Step 5
In another frying pan, melt the butter and sauté the onion until soft and lightly golden.
Step 6
Sprinkle the onion with flour, cook for 1 minute. Pour in the cream, mix well, and heat the sauce. Season with salt, nutmeg, and turmeric. The color of the sauce will change, which is normal.
Step 7
The meat and mushrooms are ready, now add the sauce to the main ingredients. Cook the dish on low heat for another 10 minutes. At the end of cooking, melt a couple of tablespoons of any soft cheese. Cover the pan with a lid and let the dish 'rest' for about 20-30 minutes.
Step 8
Boiled rice or spaghetti makes a great side dish.
