Chickpea burgers
Ingredients
- Chickpea - 17.6 oz
- Sesame bun - 4 pieces
- Walnuts - 3.2 oz
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Onion - ½ heads
- Tomatoes - 1 piece
- White bread - 1.8 oz
- Spanish onions - ½ heads
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Olive Oil - 2 spoons
- Parsley - 0.4 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Fresh Rose Hips - 2 stalks
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Drain the canned chickpeas and pat them dry.
Step 2
Using a food processor, roughly chop the garlic, onion, and rosemary leaves. Add the chickpeas, parsley, and breadcrumbs (which can be slightly toasted in the oven beforehand), and blend until you have a more or less uniform mixture.
Step 3
Transfer the minced meat to a bowl, add the sautéed and chopped walnuts, an egg, season with salt and pepper, and mix well. Let it rest for at least an hour.
Step 4
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat; when it is hot but not smoking, fry the chickpea-nut patties until golden brown, about four minutes on each side.
Step 5
Toast the halved sesame buns in the oven, then place a patty on each of the four bottom halves, top with slices of tomato and red onion, and cover with the top halves of the buns.
