Chinese Sweet and Sour Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet - 17.6 oz
  • Soy Sauce - 10 teaspoons
  • Apple Cider Vinegar - 1 fl oz
  • Sugar - 5 teaspoons
  • Water - ½ glasses
  • Passata Tomato Sauce - 2 spoons
  • Sweet Pepper - 1 piece
  • Canned Pineapple Chunks - 1 piece
  • Tomatoes - 2 pieces

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Slice the chicken breast into thin strips, place them in a bowl, pour in about 6 tablespoons of soy sauce, and add a sprinkle of pepper.

Step 2

To prepare the sauce, in a deep skillet, preferably a wok, combine vinegar, soy sauce (about 4 tablespoons), and tomato paste. Place it over heat and warm it up, adding some sugar. Add water, then add sliced bell peppers, canned pineapple, and tomatoes. Taste the sauce. If it is too sour, add the remaining sugar. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes. The vegetables should remain slightly firm. The sauce should be moderately thick.

Step 3

Sauté the chicken, combine it with the sauce, and simmer for another 10 minutes. Serve with rice.
