Choriatiki Salad

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes - 3 pieces
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Courgette - 1 piece
  • Orange Bell Peppers - 2 pieces
  • Milk - 3 fl oz
  • Feta cheese - 6.3 oz
  • Olives stuffed with lemon - 7.1 oz
  • Olive Oil - 4 fl oz
  • Red Wine Vinegar - 2 fl oz
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oregano - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Peel, wash, and dice the onion.

Step 2

Wash and cut the tomatoes and cucumber into wedges.

Step 3

Wash the bell pepper, cut it in half, and remove the seeds. Slice the pepper into small strips.

Step 4

Drain the feta cheese in a colander and let the brine drain off. Pour milk over the cheese and let it sit for 15 minutes. Drain again and cut the cheese into cubes.

Step 5

Wash and dry the oregano. Tear the leaves off.

Step 6

Place the vegetables, olives, cheese, and herbs in a salad bowl. Gently toss to avoid crushing the salad ingredients.

Step 7

Blend the red wine vinegar and olive oil in a blender. Dress the salad with the dressing. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 8

Serve the salad chilled, garnished with oregano.
