Description
Classic béchamel sauce
Ingredients
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Safflower Oil - 2 spoons
- Wheat Flour - 2 spoons
- Milk - 25 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Melt the butter and vegetable oil in a saucepan and stir in the flour. Gradually pour in the milk, mixing the mixture thoroughly, and bring it to a boil while stirring continuously.
Step 2
Add salt to taste and simmer over low heat, stirring, for 8–10 minutes. If a thinner sauce is desired, add some milk. If a thicker sauce is needed, continue cooking until it reaches the desired consistency.
Step 3
Serve immediately. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator or freezer: you can thaw it using a double boiler.
