Description
Classic cranberry sauce with lemon and orange juice
Ingredients
- Cranberry - 7.1 oz
- Brown Sugar - ¾ cup
- Water - ¼ cup
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Citrus Zest Mix - 1 teaspoon
- Orange zest - 1 teaspoon
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
- Orange juice concentrate - ¼ cup
- Ground Nutmeg - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a small saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, and water. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low.
Step 2
Add the cinnamon and nutmeg, and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. The berries will pop loudly — this is normal.
Step 3
Grate the lemon and orange zest using a fine grater. Use only the colored outer layer. Squeeze the juice from the lemon and orange.
Step 4
Add the zest and juice of the lemon and orange to the saucepan, cook for another 2 minutes, and remove from heat.
Step 5
Let it cool slightly and serve with roasted poultry.
