Clay Pots with Cabbage, Lentils, and Sausages
Ingredients
- Onion - 2 heads
- White Cabbage - 17.6 oz
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Sugar - ½ teaspoon
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Crushed Tomatoes in Their Own Juice - 3.5 oz
- Semi-Smoked Sausage - 17.6 oz
- Lentils - 3.5 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Ground coriander - to taste
- Ground Cumin - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Mild Chili Spice - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the onion, garlic, and carrot (as you like) and sauté in vegetable oil, add the shredded cabbage, and sauté for another 5 minutes.
Step 2
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, a little water, sugar, and spices, mix well, cover with a lid, and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Cook the lentils until half-done, as indicated on the package.
Step 4
Add the lentils and sausages (preferably a few different kinds), sliced into rounds, to the cabbage, mix, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step 5
Divide the cabbage and sausages into clay pots, add a little boiled hot water (no more than 2 tablespoons), cover the pots with lids, and place them in a preheated oven.
Step 6
Bake at 356°F for about 30 minutes.
