Ingredients
- Cod fillet - 21.2 oz
- Potato - 31.7 oz
- Thyme - 0.2 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - 3 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the fish in a saucepan and cover it with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook for five to seven minutes. Then, drain the water, return the fish to the saucepan, and repeat the process.
Step 2
Then, place the fish in a bowl and flake it with a fork.
Step 3
Boil the potatoes in their skins, let them cool, and then refrigerate for an hour. Peel the potatoes, chop them finely, and add them to the fish.
Step 4
Add the chopped thyme leaves, beaten egg, finely chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
Step 5
Knead the minced meat and shape it by hand into small, even meatballs.
Step 6
Heat 50 ml of oil in a cast-iron skillet and fry half of the meatballs for 6–8 minutes, then transfer them to a plate. Next, add the remaining oil and fry the rest of the meatballs. Serve with a drizzle of lemon juice or garnished with lemon slices. Accompany with a green salad or fresh or lightly salted cucumbers.
