Description
For this compote, I used frozen strawberries and black currants. You can also make compote from dried fruits and fresh fruits. It is important not to thaw the frozen berries beforehand, as thawing will cause the berries to lose all their juice.
Ingredients
- Frozen black currant puree - 17.6 oz
- Water - 2 qt
- Sugar - 1 glass
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a 5-liter pot (or smaller), pour in water and add sugar. Bring to a boil.
Step 2
Add the frozen berries to the boiling water and wait for the water to come to a boil again, then reduce the heat.
Step 3
Simmer the compote on low heat for about 5 minutes, then cover with a lid and let it sit for 30 minutes.
Step 4
Let it cool; if desired, you can strain it.
