Ingredients
- Bacon - 4 pieces
- Spanish onions - 16 heads
- Skin-On Chicken Breasts - 4 pieces
- Chicken Broth - 1 cup
- Red Grape Juice - 1 cup
- Prunes - 6 oz
- Prepared Beef Gravy - 3.5 oz
- Ground Caraway - ¾ teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Fry the bacon in a skillet until golden and crispy. Place on a paper towel.
Step 2
Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Sear for 6 minutes on each side until cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
Step 3
In the skillet, add finely chopped onions and sauté for 4 minutes until golden.
Step 4
Leave 2 tablespoons of fat in the skillet and add the wine, broth, prunes, sauce, and caraway. Cover and simmer until the onions are soft, about 6 minutes. Uncover, increase the heat, and cook until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes. Return the chicken to the skillet and cook for another 2 minutes. Plate the chicken, drizzle with sauce, sprinkle with bacon, and serve.
