Crab and Celery Salad
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 7.1 oz
- Cucumbers - 1.8 oz
- Malt Vinegar - 0 fl oz
- Celery stalk - 7.1 oz
- Crab Meat - 10.6 oz
- Capers - 0.4 oz
- Spanish onions - 1.1 oz
- Scallions - 0.2 oz
- Mayonnaise - 2.1 oz
- Fresh basil leaves - 0.4 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Finely chop the tomatoes and cucumbers, season with salt and pepper, drizzle with vinegar, and let sit for 1 hour.
Step 3
Using a vegetable peeler, remove the skin from the celery stalks. Cut the stalks into 5 mm strips lengthwise, then crosswise into 3–4 cm pieces.
Step 4
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil, add salt, and drop in the celery. Cook for 3–4 minutes, then transfer to cold water.
Step 5
Shred the crab meat into fibers.
Step 6
Mix the crab with the celery.
Step 7
Finely chop the capers, red onion, and green onion, and add them to the crab and celery mixture.
Step 8
Dress the salad with mayonnaise and mix well.
Step 9
Place the tomatoes and cucumbers in a blender, add basil, and blend until smooth.
Step 10
Strain the resulting sauce through a sieve, adding salt if necessary.
Step 11
Spread the tomato sauce on the bottom of a serving plate, then top with the crab and celery salad. Season with pepper and serve.
